Mission Statement

Making Sense of life

We are convinced of the need to Make Sense to a broken world, we believe in God’s wisdom for every day Life. The Church does not exist for solely Christians but for all people and so we endeavour to ensure that everything we do is understandable and relevant to all. We are committed to making Church a place where all can come each week and meet God, irrespective of their knowledge or relationship with God. The Church seeks to offer practical help in life and a faith that makes a difference to everyday living. Every service is different; our style is relaxed, as we encourage people to be themselves. our services are informal, visual and use today’s language and music, we seek to avoid religious jargon and use everyday language,

Together

We value working Together and recognise that we need the different gifts that we all bring. We emphasise teamwork and believe the Church is intended to be the hands and mouth of Jesus today, (i.e. his body). We believe in investing in people, so seek to appoint as many people to the work as we can.

Sharing the Love of Jesus

We seek to share the Love of Jesus, in our church and beyond into our community and the wider world. This love is overwhelming, costly and challenging in its grace and mercy. We seek to be a church where people are not condemned: mistakes and wrongs of the past are not held onto, recalled, or used as reasons to reject. Our goal is to be a community where those who have made mistakes in life can come and experience the love and forgiveness of God. Our desire is that others know this gracious love, we want to share what we have.

We seek to build our vision on the 7 essential strands or pillars  – Teaching the Bible, Worship, Small Groups, Youth and Children’s Work, Outreach, Prayer and Practical Advice.  Each foundation of Church life is equally important to the growth of the Church.

Arising from our vision statement come our values, beliefs and consequences, summarised in 10 strategic core values, rooted in the way God has led this Church over many years and continues to lead us.
