Fun for Toddlers
Little Ark provides an early opportunity for children aged 2-4 years to play and learn in a safe and happy environment without their parents.
We aim to provide a stimulating environment in which children are offered a full range of activities. The first part of the session is free play where the children choose from activities including role play, construction toys, sensory and fine motor activities, puzzles, books and craft activities. We move into singing and rhyme time before having snack time where we have a drink of water or milk and some fruit. This is followed by physical play either in the hall or, if the weather is dry, outside. Children have opportunity to use bikes and cars, large play equipment such as the climbing frame or small apparatus such as balls and hoops. We also have a sand pit outside. The session closes with story time in small groups.
- Little Ark Mondays 9.45am – 11.40am
- Little Ark Tuesdays 9.45am – 11.40am
- Little Ark Wednesdays 9.45am – 11.40am
- We charge £4 per session which is payable at the start of each half term.
- Little Ark is term time only
Activities are planned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements in mind. Each child has a secure online learning journal which records their development and achievements during their time at Little Ark. We are members of the Pre-School Learning Alliance who provide us with support and training.
The playgroup leader has a level 3 qualification (NNEB) and is assisted by a dedicated team of volunteers. All members of staff have current DBS checks and we maintain a ratio of 1 adult to 4 children.
