Covid Update: At present we have not been able to restart this activity. We are hoping to restart Alpha very soon. In the meantime you might be interested in Questions of Life. We will update this page when we have any updates. If you would like further information, or to register interest please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
You are invited to Alpha for a time of great food, even better conversation and talks that make you think.
Alpha is a chance to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, informal and open environment. We have 2 courses running on different nights.
We start with a simple 2 course meal at 7pm and cater for all dietary requirements.
Then at 8pm Donald or Cath give a talk on an aspect of Christianity, where there is time for questions and discussion, during which you will not be expected to contribute unless you want to.
We finish each session at 9:30pm.
We start at 7:15pm with a cuppa and a piece of cake or fruit after which Donald or Cath give a talk on an aspect of Christianity, where there is time for questions and discussion, during which you will not be expected to contribute unless you want to.
We finish each session at 8:45pm.
Some of the topics we cover on each course are:
- Isn’t Christianity boring and irrelevant?
- How can I be sure God exists?
- Why does God allow suffering?
- Who is Jesus and what has his death got to do with my life?
- Why do people go to church – it’s so boring!
- Does God have a plan for my life?
- How can I be a good person?
Our next courses starts on Wednesday 18th September at 7pm and Thursday 19th September at 7:15pm – but you can join us at any point in the term if you can’t make the start. We want folks to come when they feel ready.
There’s plenty of parking in our 2 car parks which are opposite McDonalds.
